Dream big or play safe - the startup founder's dilemma?

Startup founders are sometimes forced to lead a schizophrenic existence. They have big dreams, and the reason they want to create a startup is because they want to change the world. They've been told they need to think big , because the magic mantra today is disruption. Their icons are larger than life figures like Steve Jobs and Ellon Musk, who succeeded by breaking conventions because they had the courage to challenge the status quo. Now the only way you can disrupt much larger companies is by battling them on their home turf . This requires a lot of guts , and is often doomed to fail, because the odds are always stacked against David, no matter how brave he may be.
